For the first 18 months that we built these beds, most people were content with using the ends of the beds as ladders to get into the top bed. Then, we were asked to make a "notch" in the ladder at the top for easier access for smaller children (see the previous blog post). Now, more and more frequently, the stairs are being asked for. We are a "Ma and Pa" bunk bed company. Since we build beds at our home, our overhead cost are minimal. We pass the savings on to you so you can cut cost.
